LYNDEN – The Lynden Lions started slow, yet finished strong in a 35-7 victory over the Cedarcrest Wolves in a Northwest District football game, earning a berth to the WIAA Class 2A State Playoffs.
After a scoreless first quarter, Lions quarterback Jordan Kreider connected on his first of two touchdowns in the game, with a 10 yard pass to Luke Christiansen to give Lynden an early lead .
Running back Ryan Hanson scored on two rushing touchdowns of 37 and 5 yards, respectively. Lynden’s starting quarterback Josh Kraght added to the tally with a run from 12 yards out for paydirt.
The final scoring play of the ball game came with a fourth quarter touchdown pass of 19 yards from Kreider to Zack Vis.
