Oak Harbor falls in opening round of playoffs

OAK HARBOR – The Oak Harbor Wildcats had plans for a sound playoff run, but Eastside Catholic defeated the ‘Cats, 50-33, at Wildcat Memorial Stadium in the Northwest District 3A playoffs.

The Crusaders of the KINGCO conference went on a 28-0 run late in the second half to crush the Wildcats offensive. Oak Harbor had a 33-22 lead with six minutes remaining in the third quarter before Eastside Catholic capitalized on stalled drives and miscues.

Oak Harbor finished the season with an 8-2 record, after going undefeated until their loss to Meadowdale last week in Edmonds.
